Zeekoegat Primary School houses 96 learners, 3 teachers and also has a Preschool on the premises that houses 40 preschool children. The school teaches grades 1 to 6 in a very limited space with limited resources. Due to only having three teachers, they need to teach grades 4,5 and 6 together in one classroom which is challenging to say the least but these teachers give their all and have learnt to cope with what they have. None of these children are computer literate as there is no current computer facilities at this school, due to the fact that the building is not secure enough to ensure that the computers are safe and there is just no space physically for a computer room at this stage.   

 

We have raised a fair amount of money over the last four years which has gone towards the erection of a temporary preschool building which was originally part of the Primary School building. Due to the ever increasing learner numbers it became necessary to move the preschool children into their own building.

 

We have also been assisting the Primary as well as Preschool with some of the following extra needs: 

Many individuals and companies have come to our aid thus far and assisted us with providing building materials, teaching aids, stationery and so much more. However we need to step it up and build these children a school that they need and deserve.
